In the simulation, four retailers are in tough competition for the same customers in a growing market. The overriding challenge is to build and retain a profitable customer base.
At the start, the four retailers are “all over the place.” Through trial and error, they learn how to adjust their pricing, promotional activities, and store layout to appeal to their target customers. As they experiment with different strategies, they also learn how to respond to the actions of their competitors.
By the end of the program, the participants should have a good understanding of how to create and maintain a loyal customer base.
